Preface

Roots is a carefully graded series that conforms the National
Education Policy guidelines 2020 and meets the requirements of

the latest National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage
(NCF-FS) 2023. It focuses on the literacy, numeracy, and skill building
of the children’s learning. It is an endeavor to encourage the children

to enquire, explore and discover.

Key Features

• The books of literacy, numeracy, and skill development have been
divided into two terms to make the learning easy.

• The content part of these books are based on 3 Cs (Connect,

Conduct and Conclude). The Connect activity connects the
children to the day’s learning objective, the Conduct activity is

for the teacher to transfer new knowledge to the learners and the
Conclude activity is for the assessment of the learning outcomes.

• Anchor charts and Teaching Tips have been included to help in

teaching and learning.

• Revision worksheets have been given under the heads of ‘Check
My Understanding’ for self assessment.

• Interesting activities are given to keep the learners connected with

the topic.

• The concepts have been made interesting by giving catchy
illustrations.

Hoping that this series will delight the young minds and bring joy into
the classroom and making concepts clear in an interesting manner.

Constructive suggestions from the teachers and learners for the
