Clean Car Challenge
The teacher will arrange a clean car challenge as per the following
activity.
Materials Required
• Large piece of chart paper for a bigger class activity
• Crayons
• Toy cars (one per child)
Procedure:
1. Create the Scene: The teacher will draw a
big road on the chart paper.
2. Pollution Problem: Show pictures how
pollution can make it harder to breathe and
isn’t good for the environment.
3. Clean Car Choices: Introduce the
following different ways to reduce car pollution:
• Carpool: Teacher will draw multiple
toy cars close together on the road.
Explain that carpooling means sharing a ride with friends
or family, which reduces the number of cars on the road
and pollution.
• Bus Power: Teacher will draw a big school bus on the
road. Explain that buses can take many people at once,
reducing the number of cars needed.
4. The Clean Car Challenge: Tell the children it’s time to choose
a clean way to get around town and move their toy car to that
part of the road on the paper.
This activity helps children understand the concept of car pollution in
a simple way.
